Women, skip to second part.Read the freaking instructions guys. Don't do anything until you read them in their entirety. That is unless you have already installed a similar disposal before. This disposal, after reading the instructions, was easy to install and ran like a charm the first go around. I have been tearing apart all sorts of things my wife doesn't want me to throw down the drain and it has been working just fine. She stayed up top and took care of holding the sink flange in place, handing me tools, etc. The 2 of us agreed it was actually fun to install together. Yea, weird, I know. The instructions are well written and included carefully designed illustrations, which is great. Another bonus is that the sink mounting parts (collars, washers, flanges, etc) all came pre-assembled in the correct order, which helps make things so easy to understand. The whole process took us about an hour and 15 minutes, including removal of the stubborn old unit. Yes, all the parts are in the box, including the "L" drain pipe and flange (for connecting the disposer to the drain pipe), shiny new sink flange, rubber splash guard, drain plug, 31" electrical cord already attached with plug, etc...The only things not included are the plumber's putty and the rubber dishwasher connector sleeve.
