This review is from: Rugged Ridge 11608.11 7" Fender Flare Kit for TJ Jeep Wrangler 1997-2006 - 6 Piece (Automotive) The flares are a little bigger than the opening but with a little force they fit great. I have 10.5" width on my 98 TJ and they cover the tires much better than the stock flares which were pretty much broken and the previous owner had painted them so the paint was chipping pretty bad. If you have an older model like mine GET THE HARDWARE KIT! Almost all of my mounting screws either broke or were so rusted there was no way I would use them again. I did have to drill out a few of the female inserts but other than that installation was a breeze. Great product, the only reason for the 4 star review is because of the fitting issue. This review is from: Rugged Ridge 11608.11 7" Fender Flare Kit for TJ Jeep Wrangler 1997-2006 - 6 Piece (Automotive) These flares look great and cover my 35" x 12.5" tires just perfectly. I did have to trim the small lower front flares. I just used some metal shears and trimmed to fit. If you don't do that, the small flares will push on the middle of the fender flare, because the small flare is factory size (not 7") and is too long to fit right. For a pretty simple modification I decided it wasn't worth knocking the review down to 4 stars. For older jeeps they can be a pain to install - in my case I had several missing bolts (previous owner used zip-ties and I never noticed!), so I had to improvise. In some cases, I used zip ties as well and it worked fine. i had a couple problems removing the existing bolts as the female threaded insert was spinning freely in the body. I'm not sure what hardware comes with these if you buy them with hardware, but it surely can't be worth the extra 40 or 50 bucks. Anyway, I like these flares and got them at a great price without hardware. I recommend buying the hardware kit. I did not and spent some time at the part store looking for the right bolt, fender washer, and fasteners to replace the rusted factory hardware. Fender's installed in couple hours and would have gone faster with new anchor nuts.
