She bought it on trip to Chicago. Tried it out this morning and forgot turn the timer on. After the grinder turned off in 2 seconds (pre-ground coffee) I did not here it brewing but it did brew the coffee. The only thing I find negative about it is there is no backlight for the LED display. It is the quietest machine I have ever owned. If you follow the owners manual there should be no problems. I like it!
